I am going to set up a small Electronics workbench for my Birthday coming up here. I have roughly $300 to play with here. I am trying to get as many supplies as possible for useful equipment. Things I am planning on purchasing:

Helping hands Magnifier
Weller WLC100 Solder Station
A couple of Drawer Storage Cabinets
Several 26 pin headers
Several 15 Pin DSubs with Dsub crimper
A few 16 pin IC Sockets
A Digital Multimeter

And a Vellemen PS1503SBU Bench power supply (variable).

After purchasing that I am going to order (from Jameco) a few of their Grab bags of caps, resistors, leds, etc little components and some PIC microprocessors.

Other things I need might be say some prototyping materials such as a breadboard or a PIC Development breakout board, etcetera.
So if you know how to put together a decent working area, i.e. you have worked with electronic projects before, if you could please share your experience on what are some essentials / plusses that I haven’t factored in. Thanks
